Food Basket Distribution

One the 2^nd and 4^th Saturdays of each month (excepting April and November) we provide food baskets to income-eligible residents of Allston and Brighton. Food baskets contain a 3- to 4-day food supply for one household.

During April and November, we distribute one special holiday food basket to make these typically tough times of year a little easier.

To receive a food basket, each guest must provide a picture ID, proof of income eligibility (welfare card, Mass Health card, disability papers or unemployment papers), or a referral from a social worker, clergy member, hospital staff, Food Source hotline, etc. and a letter with a current postmark confirming his address.

Distribution Facts

• Available for pickup on the 2^nd and 4^th Saturdays of each month between 10AM and 1PM (except April and November)
• An average of 326 guests are served each month
• One basket contains a 3- to 4-day food supply
• In 2004, we served 3,883 guests with 2,149 food baskets
• In November 2004, we distributed 436 Thanksgiving food baskets
• In December 2004, we distributed 400 holiday food baskets
