Food Basket Distribution

One the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month (excepting April and November) we provide food baskets to income-eligible residents of Allston and Brighton. Food baskets contain a 3 to 4 day food supply for one household.

During April and November, we distribute one special holiday food basket to make these typically tough times of year a little easier.

To receive a food basket, each guest must provide a picture ID, proof of income eligibility (welfare card, Mass Health card, disability papers or unemployment papers), or a referral from a social worker, clergy member, hospital staff, Food Source hotline, etc. and a letter with a current postmark confirming his address.


Distribution Facts

Available for pickup on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month between 10AM and 1PM (except April and November)
An average of 326 guests are served each month
One basket contains a 3- to 4-day food supply
In 2004, we served 3,883 guests with 2,149 food baskets
In November 2004, we distributed 436 Thanksgiving food baskets
In December 2004, we distributed 400 holiday food baskets
